Our other courses give you the tools to handle most repair jobs. Advanced Troubleshooting gives you the skills to handle all jobs well into the future, skills that very few other repairmen have. Master the cutting-edge troubleshooting techniques needed to repair the computer-controlled appliances of today and tomorrow and set yourself apart.

The course also includes additional practice using manufacturer tech sheets to troubleshoot real-world appliances, further enhancing your competence and confidence. For example, in appliances with multiple control boards, you need to understand how to troubleshoot the microprocessor (main) board AND troubleshoot its communications with various sub-boards. Is it complicated? Yes. But that’s why technicians with these skills are at the top of our industry.

Quiz: Do you REALLY know your stuff?

Think you’re good enough to skip our Core Appliance Repair Training course? Why not put your skills to the test? If you ace our You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know quiz, you’ve proven worthy of moving straight to our advanced courses.

If you struggle, that’s alright, most technicians do. It’s admirable that you’ve made it this far with just your handiness and your instincts, but it’s time you learned the core skills of every appliance repair master.

Answers to Your Most-Asked Questions

Does the Advanced Troubleshooting course have prerequisites?
Like all our Advanced courses, Advanced Troubleshooting requires a strong background in basic electricity and introductory schematic reading. We strongly encourage students to take Core Appliance Repair Training first, though it is not required. If you’re not sure whether you should start with the Core course, take our You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know quiz.
How much does Advanced Troubleshooting cost? Do all courses cost the same amount?
Tuition for the Advanced Troubleshooting course is $425. The cost for our other courses (and bundles) varies and can be found on our course listings page.
What if I need more help on a lesson?
Simple. We are here to help with ANY question you have. Submit your thoughts to the Ask the Teacher Forum in the Advanced Troubleshooting module (or any module you’re working on) and Team Samurai will answer your question. We will give you the training, coaching and mentoring you need to become a master yourself.
How long do the online training courses take? How long do I have to complete them?
Because our coursework is self-paced, the time to complete the training courses varies with each student. If you work at a steady pace, doing at least 4-6 lessons per week, you can complete Advanced Troubleshooting in a month. If you are taking the course full-time, it can be completed in a few weeks. You can access the course materials for as long as you need, though your initial access period is one year if you enroll in a single course and two years if you enroll in a bundle. If you need access beyond that, we charge a very small monthly renewal fee.
What about hands-on appliance repair training?

In order to be a skilled, profitable tech, you need brains-on training along with hands-on practice. Click here to read how our students get that hands-on practice.
